My friend said “I was upset for a stupid reason which lead me to get overwhelmed

So when I cry I can't properly talk
Then when I did calm myself down
He's gonna say what if I call your dad and told him about this situation
I was frustrated cause I couldn't find some stupid rice
Which led me to cry
And the whole time I sat down crying he kept trying to talk to me
Then he said the only problem the world have today is lack of communication
And then brings up my brother as an example
Saying the only reason he was against me and my cousin was because "we didn't talk to him"
When I TOLD HIM MANY TIMES. His gf did and I confirm said that she felt like she was letting cheated I couldn't say anything again so that led me to another breakdown Couldn't go to my room cause I have to help him look some dumb egg rolls
So now all I'm worrying about is him calling my dad because the way I cried in the kitchen today
And that I treated him bad
That's all I have to say From this situation“ What should I say to make them feel better

It sounds like your friend is experiencing a lot of overwhelming emotions and confusion about the situation. Here are some things you could say to offer support and understanding:

  1. Acknowledge Their Feelings: "It sounds like you had a really tough day, and it's okay to feel upset about things that may seem small to others. Your feelings are valid."

  2. Reassure Them: "It's understandable to cry and feel overwhelmed sometimes, especially when you're stressed. You don't have to worry about what happened in the kitchen. Everyone has moments like that."

  3. Listen: "I’m here for you if you want to talk more about it. It can really help to share what you’re feeling."

  4. Encourage Openness: "Communication can be difficult, but it sounds like you've tried really hard to express yourself. Maybe you and your brother can find a time to talk it out more calmly in the future."

  5. Supportive Closing: "Remember, it’s okay to ask for space or take time to calm down. If you need anything or just want to hang out, I’m here for you."

This response shows empathy and understanding, while also encouraging them to process their feelings without judgment.
