My friend has currently 62.4% and the final exam is worth 30%. She's wondering how much she should get on the exam to at least pass or boost it up. Please show the math :o

final mark= .3*FExam+.7*62.4
I am not certain what final mark she needs, but calculate FExam

well, you did not say what mark was pass so I will assume it is like 65
Say we have 100 exams in the year
we have taken 70 and the last one is really 30 together
.624 * 70 + x * 30 = .65 * 100
x = (65 -43.68)/30 = .71 or 71 %
It does not matter if we pick 100. the ratio between taken and remaining must just be 70/30 and the sum on the right
