My experience with Lectronica products has led me to question the company's
business and manufacturing practices. Several months after I purchased a brand-
new Lectronica remote garage-door opener, my garage door began opening for no
apparent reason. A repair company informed me that the item had a manufacturing
defect of which Lectronica is fully aware. However, Lectronica refuses to recall the
affected units, forcing its customers to pay for the expensive repair. If you are
considering purchasing a Lectronica computer, I strongly recommend you choose a
different brand.
What's the author's point in comparing garage-door openers and computers?
The author is extremely disappointed with the quality of both Lectronica's computers and remote garage-door openers.
Lectronica's manufacturing practices and attitudes are likely to be the same, regardless of the type of product involved.
Computers are more complicated than garage-door openers, so a Lectronica computer is more apt to have manufacturing defects.
