My denominator is 5 more than my numerator.I am equal to 27/72

denominator -- x+5

x/(x+5) = 27/72
72x = 27x + 135
45x = 135
x = 3

fraction is 3/8 , which is what 27/72 is if reduced to lowest terms

are you not familiar with algebra?
I cross mulitplied
72(x) = 27(x+5)
72x = 27x + 135
etc
