My assignment is to write a descriptive essay, however I'm not sure how to write an introductory paragraph for this kind of essay. Any tips?

What are you planning to describe? I'd write the body of the paper first and write the intro and conclusion last. How can you introduce something you haven't written yet??!!

Go here and click on the section called "Essay & Research Paper Level" and then pay attention to "Beginnings" and (farther down) "Narrative or Descriptive"

I have to describe a place I've visited. I looked at this site and it was a huge help! I'm going to try to start of my essay with an anecdote (story of when I visited the place), then some background, then my thesis.
