NARRATOR: Did you just hear those two? They are Monsieur and Madame Jourdain, going at the same old argument between them for the—well, at least the twenty-seventh time this week! It’s always the same: Monsieur Jourdain wants to be a high-class nobleman, and Madame Jourdain wants simply to be Madame Jourdain! A great playwright once wrote a marvelously funny comedy about them, in which he told the entire story. Want to hear it? All right, then: ladies and gentlemen, we now present the famous comedy by Molière, “The Would-Be Gentleman.”
