so
m/12 + n/32 produces CO2
so m/12=n/32 or
32m=12n

n=8m/3
C + 1/2O2 -> CO
1 mole + 1/2 mole -> 1 mole
m/12 n/32
in this case
m/12= 2n/32
m/12=n/16
mass of O2 required is
16m/12 or 4m/3
which is what we expect as half the number of moles i.e. half the mass i needed.
