Me and my mom are having an agrument about how to solve this problem.
27 / (5+4) * 19=
she says the answer is 57 and I say the answer is 6 with a remainder of 9..can you please tell me who is right. Thank you.

27 / (5+4) * 19 = 27 / (9) * 19=3*19=57. Mom is right.
i assume it is read like this:
[27/(5+4)] * 19 which is
(27/9) * 19 <=> 3*19 = 57
[27/(5+4)] * 19 which is
(27/9) * 19 <=> 3*19 = 57
The rules of prioity are:
1. Parentheses
2. exponents
3. multiplications and divisions, from left to right
4. additions and subtractions, from left to right.
For 27 / (5+4) * 19=
you would first tackle the parentheses to get
27/9*19
Then multiplications and divisions from left to right to get
3*19=57
as was correctly evaluated by the previous posters and by your mom.
