15th Amendment - Prohibited the denial of voting rights based on race, color, or previous condition of servitude.

14th Amendment - Granted citizenship to all persons born or naturalized in the United States, including former slaves, and guaranteed equal protection under the law.

Civil Rights Act of 1866 - Declared that all persons born in the United States were citizens and had the same rights as white citizens.
