The mantissa is negative. For instance log .002= log(10*-3*2)
= log(10^-3) + log 2= -3+.3020
= -2.69

in your example
log(xxxx*zzz/yyy)=log xxxx + logzzzz- log yyyy

which means log(10^-2)+log1.6 + log(10^-2)+log8.4 - [log(10^-1) +log(4.8)
