Here are some foundational scriptures for the three institutions: Family, Government, and Church.
Family
- Genesis 2:24 - "Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh."
- Ephesians 6:1-4 - "Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother...(Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.)"
- Colossians 3:18-21 - "Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them. Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged."
Government
- Romans 13:1-4 - "Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God..."
- 1 Peter 2:13-14 - "Be subject for the Lord's sake to every human institution, whether it be to the emperor as supreme, or to governors as sent by him to punish those who do evil and to praise those who do good."
- Proverbs 29:2 - "When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, but when the wicked rule, the people groan."
Church
- Matthew 16:18 - "And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it."
- Ephesians 4:11-13 - "And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ..."
- Hebrews 10:24-25 - "And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another..."
These scriptures provide a biblical foundation for understanding the roles and responsibilities of each institution.
