What is 10 - 4 + 2 ?
do i subtract first or add?
i got two answers but i want to make sure. is it 4 or 8?
makes no difference which you do first
10 - 4 + 2
= 6 + 2
= 8
or
10 - 4 + 2
= 10 + 2 - 4
= 12 - 4
= 8
How could you get 4 ?
10 - 4 + 2
= 6 + 2
= 8
or
10 - 4 + 2
= 10 + 2 - 4
= 12 - 4
= 8
How could you get 4 ?
are you sure it doesnt make a difference? because for 4 years my teacher told me this that it does matter. soo.....
Please study the examples that Reiny posted. No matter which order you subtract and add, the answer is still the same.
i knoe but im still saying
You must be thinking of 4+2=6
10-6=4
but it's -4
so -4+2=-2
10-2=8.
10-6=4
but it's -4
so -4+2=-2
10-2=8.
thank you
