Leslie needs 324 inches of fringe to put around the edge of a tablecloth. The fringe comes in lengths of 10 yards. If Leslie buys 1 package of fringe, how many feet of fringe will she have left over?

I figured 1 yard is 3 feet
10 yards is 24 feet
10 feet is 120 inches
20 feet is 240 inches but then I got stuck

No. We do not accept or send email to students.

Let's make this problem easier.

1 yard = 3 feet = 36 inches

(10 * 36) - 324 = _______ inches left over
It would be 36 inches left over but they are asking he many feet of fringe would be left over
I'm sure you can figure that out, Patrick. <g>
I will try and then post my answer
For some reason I am still stumped
I think I have it figured out.
324 inches divided by 3 feet = 108
108 divided by 36 inches equals 3 feet
36 inches are left over.

How many feet are in 36 inches?

3 feet is right.
3 feet
