Well, definitely not 5+3+4. I don't exactly get your other equations, so the one that makes the most sense to me is the first one, 5 * 3 * 4. What I would do is make a little chart. Number the shirts, and have the possible plant and shoes branching off, then count the possibilities. See if your answer equals 5*3*4.
