Khufu, also known as Cheops, was an ancient Egyptian pharaoh of the 4th dynasty during the Old Kingdom period. He is best known for commissioning the construction of the Great Pyramid of Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The pyramid was built as a tomb for Khufu and is the largest of the three pyramids at the Giza Necropolis. Khufu ruled for approximately 23 years and his reign is believed to be around 2589–2566 BC. He is considered one of the most famous and influential pharaohs in Egyptian history.
