Kale is building a small basement suite. The bathroom takes up 1/3 of the suite and has an area of 12m2.
1. Draw the room and label all the areas
2. what are the possible dimensions of the bathroom?
3. what is the area of the rest of the suite without the bathroom?
4.what is the perimeter of the basement suite?
My Thinking:
For #2 I got 1x12, 6x2, 3x4, since the room is rectangular
I'll do #1 if I get help for the rest of the questions.
Please help ... thanks

Do you know the formula of "area" and "perimeter"?
Area=length x width
perimeter=2(Length+width)
Area=length x width
perimeter=2(Length+width)
Ms Sue why did u give me that link. It just takes me back to the question i had posted before. None helped me on it. And yes I know the formula for the area and perimeter. That's common sense. I really need help though. Especially on #3 and 4 so can someone actually help me instead of giving me links back to my previous questions.
*no one
I HAVE BEEN STUCK ON THIS PROBLEM FOR 3 HOURS!!!!!!
The reason you are not getting any replies to your question is that the question is not a very good one
e.g. if the area of the bathroom is 12 m^2 , its dimensions could be any pair of numbers that multiply to get 12, assuming you have a rectangle
you think it could be 1x12, 2x6, or 3x4 , all possible solutions
but what about 2.5 x 4.8 ? , 5 x 2.4 ? etc
since the bathrom of 12 m^2 is 1/3 of the whole suite, the whole suite must be 36 m^2
by the way, a bathroom with dimensions 1x12 seems rather silly, that would be just a long skinny hallway.
let's assume the bathroom is 3x4, then one dimension of the whole suite could be either 3 or 4
if it is 3 m, then the whole suite must be 3 x 12
if it is 4 m, the the whole suite must be 4 x 9
Does this get you going?
