One of those is right. Which answer makes the most sense to you?

Hint: Which of your answers finds the number of square meters in the house?
I am in 3rd grade, we are not multiplying by 3 digits that is why i tried the second one. I think it is the 2nd one. after adding both answers??
This is not part of any third grade math curriculum I know!

Your first answer is correct.
Thank you Ms. Sue.
I am Bella's Father, I also found it strange that they would post this type of a question for my 8 year old.

Quick question does this one sound right for her grade. I tried to help her solve it, but my Daughter seemed confused.

A rectangular room is 20 meters by 25 meters. It would cost $20.00 per square meter to paint a room. How much would it cost to paint the room?

Answer?:

20x25=500
$20x500=$10,000 to pain the room
or
20x$20=$400
25x$20=$500
=$900 to paint the room

Thank You Ms. Sue I greatly appreciate it,
I will need to bring this up to her teacher.
The last question makes no sense. First, the room's dimensions in feet would be 60 by 75. That's the size of a very large house.

When we paint a room, we usually paint the walls of the room, but the problem doesn't state the height of the walls.

Yes, please check with her teacher.
Thank you very much Ms. Sue I greatly appreciate your help. I am glad I came across this site, I will visit it frequently.
It will defiantly help my Daughter and myself to further assist her with these math problems.
