I agree with the statement that James is incorrect. A fraction can indeed be interpreted as division of the numerator by the denominator. However, in this case, the fraction 3/4 is not equivalent to the expression 4 ÷ 3. When we divide 4 by 3, we get the decimal equivalent of 1.3333... which cannot be expressed as a fraction with whole numbers in the numerator and denominator. Therefore, the two expressions are not equal.
