I think it 161 if you add 110+40+10+2/3+1/3=161 but I don't think that's how you do it
starting with x, we have
niece: 40
charity: 2/3 (x-40)
clothes: 1/9 (x-40)
bag: 10
left over: 110
so, now you have
40 + 2/3 (x-40) + 1/9 (x-40) + 10 + 110 = x
x = 580
niece: 40
charity: 2/3 (x-40)
clothes: 1/9 (x-40)
bag: 10
left over: 110
so, now you have
40 + 2/3 (x-40) + 1/9 (x-40) + 10 + 110 = x
x = 580
