I’ve heard that scientists take ice buried under Greenland from over 200,000 years ago to find out the temperature at that time don’t they realize that the ice doesn’t just stay at the same temperature forever how can this possibly work

Well, If you are wondering how the ice doesn't melt, it's because it's still cold enough to stay frozen, obviously. Maybe this has to do with Project Iceworm:
