Generally,
a. increase T if that doesn't decompose reactants or products.
b. Remove the product by distillation or some other means (such as precipitation if that is feasible).
I've been studying the transesterification of dimethyl carbonate to diphenyl carbonate, and experimental equilibrium constant (K) values range from 0 to 0.5 at temperatures from 298 to 450 Kelvin. My question is:
How do we make a reaction more spontaneous or how do increase K to proceed the reaction forward?
