IT Programming in South Africa for a 2007 matriculant?

I matriculated 2007 with a Senior Certificate :

HG Afrikaans 2nd Lang 45%
HG English 1st Lang 51%
SG Maths 66%
SG Science 49%
HG Biology 44%
SG Computers 62%

And I have experience with ms-dos, vbscript, javascript, css, html, htas and other platforms.

I live in Cape Town and I want to study programming this year. Where should I go? What course should I do? Is it too late for enrollment? CPUT, CT, UNISA... Where what who how?

I'm a little lost, as I was originally supposed to study Animation at City Varsity College. And I spent a good part of 2008 preparing for that, only to find that Animatin won't be a very lucrative industry for me. Now its already 2009, and I'm having to get the heck out of dodge for a good IT Programming course, diploma or degree of some sort. Basically I want to be able to design professional top-notch software in C, C++, VB, Pearl (etcetera), obtain a good understanding of algorithms, computers, networks and how they work.

The best source of information is to chat with folks already into IT or web design in your area, Cape Town. Do that, seek them out.
