Is there really such thing as male and female cells?

I'm pretty interested in the human body (not in a weird way) and would like to be a doctor when i grow up. So i would like to know more about the body. (i'm not 100% sure if this counts as a HOMEWORK question or not, bc its not on any quick check test or quiz, but i figure i'd ask it here because it kindof has to do with academics?)

In every cell, there are two chromosomes, and in any human, are either all XX or XY. If they are all XX in a human, that is a female. If they are all XY, that is a male.
