Money certainly has a big influence on the world, but I don't know that we can say that money dominates it. Many people in developing countries have virtually no money and depend upon the food they grow and what they can barter. They exist on a tiny fraction of the material goods that people in the developed world expect.

For many people everywhere, family, friends, health, hobbies, and religion are more important than money.
