Is it necessary for kittens to get their uterus taken out so that they don't have kids? I mean, is it really bad for them if they don't?

and will it hurt the kitten who is getting the operation?
*also* is it scientifically proven that if you stay too close to a cat, you can't have kids? probably a myth :P

Yes, most people advise owners to have their kittens spayed. Cats can easily get pregnant and have litters that the owners can not take care of. Every cat has the right to be part of a loving family -- or at least protected on a farm that values it.

You're right, it's a myth that being too close to a cat prevents human pregnancy.
