Is carbondioxide harmful to animals

Humans and animals exhale CO2 (carbon dioxide) and inhale oxygen. Small amounts of CO2 are OK but animals can't live in an atmosphere of pure CO2 o even elevated levels of CO2. You can google to see what the upper limit for CO2 is but it isn't very high.
