Is American Sign Language used worldwide? Or is there a different kind of sign language for different countries?

There are various different sign languages. While every single country does not necessarily have their own sign language, American Sign Language is only used in the United States and most of Canada (except Quebec). Examples of other sign languages include, Japanese Sign Language, Irish Sign Language, Mexican Sign Language, Italian Sign Language, etc. These are not the same as ASL.
