Is (0,3) a solution to the equation y =x + 3

his is my teachers answer to my question of usage of the 2 numbers mentioned as possible solutions.
yes it does make a difference. (4,8) is called an ordered pair. Ordered pairs are always in the form (x,y)

That means the problem would read 3 = 0 + 3 or 3 = 3 so yes it is a solution to the problem.
