iron metal & oxygen combine to form magnetic oxide of iron, Fe3O4. How many mols of iron can be converted to magnetic by 8.80 mols of pure oxygen?

balance the equation:
3Fe + 2O2 >> Fe3O4
so it takes 3/2 molesFe for each mole O2
so moles Fe=3/2 * 8.8 moles
Writing Fe3O4 as a compound always bothers me when we know it is
FeO.Fe2O3 an almost equal mixture of Iron(II) and Iron(III) oxides.
