The International Cotton Expositions were very important to Georgia's history because they helped the state become famous for growing lots of cotton. Cotton is a type of plant that makes soft material, like the clothes we wear. People from all around the world would come to Georgia to see the special event and learn about cotton. It made Georgia very well-known and helped people in the state sell their cotton to other countries. So, it was like a big party that helped Georgia become famous for cotton!
