In your own words: Explain why there is such a wide variation for the trait of skin tone in humans. Use two to three sentences
1 answer
Skin tone variation in humans is largely due to adaptation to different environments and climates. People living in regions with high levels of ultraviolet radiation typically have darker skin to protect against sun damage, while those in colder regions have lighter skin to allow for better absorption of Vitamin D. Additionally, genetic factors and intermixing of populations over time also contribute to the diversity of skin tones seen in different ethnic groups.
