The Holocaust was a genocide carried out by the Nazi regime in Germany during World War II. It targeted Jews, as well as other marginalized groups such as Romani people, disabled individuals, and homosexuals. The Nazis systematically murdered six million Jews in a variety of ways, including mass shooting, gas chambers, and forced labor in concentration camps. The concentration camps were places where prisoners were subjected to inhumane conditions, torture, and brutal treatment before ultimately being killed. The Holocaust stands as one of the most horrific and devastating events in human history.
