The coastal plains were once flooded by the oceans. Therefor, the whole coastal plain area is amazing for planing crops. There are many crops in the coastal plain region because the ocean flooding fertilized the ground.

That´s why most of GA crops are grown in the coastal plain area. The coastal plain area crops include; Plums, peaches, peanuts, and more. There are almost no crops in the piedmont region because it has lots of granite in the ground.
