Unit 6 Lesson 4 Page 5
In your own opinion, which disorder have you seen the most in your life?
Answer: The disorder I have seen the most in my life is anxiety disorder. I have observed friends and family members experiencing excessive worry and fear about various aspects of their lives, which has impacted their daily functioning.
How do you think the disorder you have seen the most affects everyday life for a person who has been diagnosed with that disorder?
Answer: Anxiety disorder can significantly affect a person's everyday life by causing distress, difficulty concentrating, sleep disturbances, and avoidance of certain situations. It can impact relationships, work performance, and overall quality of life.
Why do you think health care professionals are reluctant to diagnose children with personality disorders?
Answer: Health care professionals may be reluctant to diagnose children with personality disorders because personality traits and behaviors are still developing during childhood and adolescence. Differentiating between normative developmental changes and early signs of a personality disorder can be challenging, and there may be concerns about labeling a child with a stigmatizing diagnosis at a young age.
