Both Baroka and Lakunle are also traditional in their own ways - Baroka representing the older, more traditional customs and beliefs of the village, while Lakunle represents a more modern, Western-influenced mindset. Additionally, both characters are portrayed as somewhat arrogant and self-centered, believing that they are entitled to Sidi's affections without truly considering her feelings or desires.
