in the expression -7x - 5x^2 + 5, what is the coefficient of x?

B.) 5
C.) -7
D.) -5

Can anybody help me with the math? It's not my best subject... (or if you'd just give me the answer that would be fine too, XD.)

a coefficient is simply the number in front of the variable.
So it is -7
C. The answer is C, -7.
