1. Make an electroplating cell but make the key the positive electrode. Cu ==> Cu^2+ + 2e
2. Use dilute HNO3 to dissolve the Cu. Some attention must be devoted to this; if the concn of HNO3 is too large the key can be corroded (attacked) also.
