In The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Christopher's mother claims in her letter that leaving was "better for all of [them]," but this is debatable. She admits she struggled with patience, saying, "Maybe if things had been different, maybe if you’d been different, I might have been better at it" (Chapter 157), indicating she felt overwhelmed. While her absence allowed Christopher's father to take full responsibility, it led to trust issues when he hid the truth about her departure. Christopher’s shock upon discovering her letters shows the emotional damage: "I was going to London, because I wanted to be with my mother" (Chapter 167). Though she believed leaving would help, it ultimately caused more harm to Christopher’s stability. rephrase like an 8th grader(leave quatations and chappters the same)

In The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Christopher's mom says in her letter that leaving was "better for all of [them]," but that's something people can argue about. She admits it was hard for her to be patient, saying, "Maybe if things had been different, maybe if you’d been different, I might have been better at it" (Chapter 157). This shows she felt really overwhelmed. Even though her leaving let Christopher's dad take care of everything, it also made Christopher not trust him when he hid the truth about her leaving. When Christopher finds out about her letters, he feels shocked and says, "I was going to London, because I wanted to be with my mother" (Chapter 167). So, even though she thought leaving would help, it actually made things much harder for Christopher.
