Do this. Get the momma to buy some dried peas at the grocery. Count out 100 of them.
In a two cup measuring cup, glass, pour in 1 cup of sugar. Now add the peas, stir them in. What is the new volume? The additional volume in the measuring cup is 100 peas, so divide that increased volume by 100. That is the volume of a pea.
I suggest blackeyed peas, as they taste better than crowder.
