In "Nothing Gold Can Stay," what does gold symbolize overall in the poem?

Um... that gold can't last forever?

Yes. Gold doesn't last very long.
Am I saying this right? I have to have text evidence with answer.
Gold symbolizes that everything doesn't last forever. Frost says, "Nature's first green gold," meaning the first signs of spring is valuable like gold. However, Frost says at the end of the poem that, "Nothing gold can stay." which is saying that even the most valuable things like gold can't last forever.
I agree with you.
Okay. Thank you Ms.Sue!
