Sure! Here’s a suggestion for how to write that moment:

As the smoke began to clear and the heat of the flames faded into the backdrop of their adrenaline, he turned to her, concern etched across his face. “Are you okay?” he asked, his voice thick with worry.

She glanced back at the flames licking at the edges of what had once been his home, the place filled with memories and laughter, now swallowed by chaos. Her heart raced not at the magnitude of the fire but at the thought of his loss. “What about your house? What if—”

“Forget the house,” he interrupted, stepping closer, urgency in his eyes. “I was in there with you. You’re what matters to me. I...I was about to tell you something before all this happened.”

She looked up, her breath caught in her throat, anxiety turning to something else—something electric. He took a deep breath, grounding himself against the roar of the flames behind them.

“I love you,” he finally confessed, the words rushing out like the flames, intense and fierce. “I’ve loved you for a while now, and being in there...it made me realize—”

“I love you too,” she interrupted, the weight of their circumstances igniting the truth she had been holding in. “I’ve always loved you.”

For a moment, amidst the chaos and destruction, they stood there—two hearts laid bare, finding solace in one another amidst the ashes.
