Before anyone can tell you if you're on the right track or not, you'll need to post a decent outline indicating HOW you plan to compare (relate similarities) Jim and Huck and their experiences with Mr. Mandela's.

In Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Jim and Huck both decide that their relationships with their friends and loved ones are more important than their freedom, lives, and in Huck's case, his soul. Do you think modern heroes can make the same kinds of choices? In one paragraph describe a modern example of heroism and how it relates to Huck and Jim's actions. Use at least two examples from the text to support your ideas.
I think I'll choose Nelson Mandela because he spent 28 years of his life in prison fighting against the apartheid regime. They actually agreed to free him if he would stop fighting the regime. He refused, and finally came out of prison on his own terms, then becoming the first president of modern South Africa. So does he sound ok to write on?
