His horizontal speed is 5.6 cos 14° = 5.4337m/s

So, to cross the 3.5m between buildings, it will take 3.5/5.4337 = 0.644s

So, how far does he fall in .644 sec?

s = 1/2 at² = 4.905 * .644² = 2.03m
