in a blast furnace, iron(III) oxide is used to produce iron by the following (unbalanced) reaction:

Fe2O3 + CO = Fe + CO2
a. if 4 kg Fe2O3 are available to react, how many moles of CO are needed?

Balance the equation.
Convert 4000 g Fe2O3 to mols. mols = grams/molar mass
Use the coefficients in the balanced equation to convert mols Fe2O3 to mols CO.
Well, I'm not 100% sure this is right but I believe it is 2,100 mol. of CO.
