Dilated cardiomyopathy happens when the heart's chambers get bigger and can't pump blood as well. When the left atrial cavity is mild to moderately dilated, and the right atrial cavity is slightly dilated, it can show that the heart is under some stress or that there might be a problem.
While these findings can be related to dilated cardiomyopathy, they don’t necessarily mean it is caused by that condition alone. Other factors, like high blood pressure, valve issues, or other heart problems, can also lead to dilation. It’s important for doctors to look at the whole picture, including symptoms and tests, to understand why the heart is changing.
