French colonizers, on the other hand, tended to establish trade alliances and often intermarried with Indigenous peoples, forming more cooperative relationships. English colonizers frequently viewed Indigenous peoples as obstacles to be removed from desired land, leading to violent conflicts and the forced removal of Indigenous populations from their traditional territories.
