2e- means two electrons.
No on S^2- = S^- + 2e^-. You have two excess electrons on the left, but THREE on the right. It is not balanced.
I’m studying Redox Chapter. In this chapter I came across a point regarding oxidation.
“Loss of electron results in decrease in negative charge”
e.g
MnO^2- = MnO^- + e^-
2Cl^- = Cl2 + 2e^-
S^2- = S + 2e^-
Now first tell me what does "2e^-" means secondly in the third example
S^2- = S + 2e^- As per the above statement the loss of electron shouldn't it be
S^2- = S^- + 2e^-
Please explain me!!!
