I'm really confused on this question. Could you help me? (First time using this site by the way)
The question is: use the function rule f(x) = 3x - 2. Fine output: f(1.5)

Can you please explain how I get this?

Ms. Sue or someone please? :/

Is it 2.5? You do: 1.5x3-2?
Answered by Steve
It is indeed.

Since f(x) = 3x-2
for f(1.5), everywhere you see an x, replace it with 1.5 and then do the math.

Ah yeah. That's makes sense.
Could you help me with one more? I cannot figure it out...

Find the first four terms of the sequence represented by the expression: 3n+5
Answered by Steve
just substitute in 1,2,3,4,... for n

3*1+5 = 8
3*2+5 = 11
3*3+5 = 14
3*4+5 = 17

Or, just start with 8 and keep adding 3 for the next terms.
