If you don't do talent search in gr 7th can I still do it in gr 8th????

Ok me and my friend are having a problem like she saying that I can't do it this year which I'm not but she said I can't do it next year. Ok that's unfair I'm going to do very well this year to do it.

I'm going to get very good grades this yr.
