if x-y=10 4 times the larger number - 30=3x the smaller number = 20. I am having trouble even starting this question.

Can you re-write the problem using alegebra only (no words)? Let's call a and b the smaller and larger number respectively.

x - y = 10
b - 30 = 3x
a = 20

Is this correct?
